We are Seeking a Seasoned Chief Financial Officer


 

Our CFO has the responsibility for all financial matters of Northern Nevada HOPES. This position partners with the Executive Team and the Board of Directors to develop policies, strategies and initiatives to ensure financial health and sustainability. Also within the purview of the CFO is financial compliance and reporting for grants (federal, state, and private), budget development and maintenance, oversight of payroll, finance, and revenue cycle and partnering with other departments on initiatives such as 401k and benefit offerings. The CFO is integral to the realization of our mission at HOPES and partners to provide leadership for the entire organization.

Northern Nevada HOPES is a community health and wellness center serving the Northern Nevada area. We are a non-profit community health center located in a historic and quaint area of downtown Reno, Nevada. Our expert care teams provide integrated medical and wellness services to individuals and families in our community. The medical home model holds promise as a way to improve health care in America by transforming how primary care is organized and delivered. At HOPES we understand there are many determinants of health and that a range of personal, social, economic, and environmental factors influence health.

  • We are a certified Patient-Centered Medical Home, recognized by the National Commission on Quality Assurance
  • We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The mission of all FQHCs is to provide excellent health care services to otherwise under-served populations. We accept most insurance plans, Medicaid, Medicare, and the uninsured. For the uninsured, we offer discounted services based on a sliding fee scale.
  • We are a National Health Service Corp site, and our providers are eligible to apply toward a federal loan forgiveness program

    • Fulfilling Executive Leadership Key Accountabilities Areas
      • Strategic Capacity: Leads the planning, delivery and assessment of responsive and innovative programs and services within scope, including:
        • Providing support and direction for leaders
        • Developing forward-looking, predictive models to provide insight into agency?s overall strategy and plan.
        • Developing and maintaining a three year strategy for your line of business.
        • Maintaining a working knowledge of agency strengths and weaknesses as well as industry and market threats and opportunities.
      • Fiscal Accountability: Serves as a steward of HOPES funds, including:
        • Determining fiscal requirements for business unit operations and preparing budgetary recommendations.
        • Monitoring, verifying and reconciling expenditure of budgeted funds.
      • Risk Management and Compliance: Proactively protects the agency and its stakeholders by managing and minimizing risk and ensuring compliance (FQHC, HRSA, FTCA, etc.), including:
        • Ensuring personnel and business unit policy and procedures are aligned with agency wide policies as well as local, state and federal regulations.
        • Establishing business unit policies and procedures.
        • Evaluating, developing and maintaining quality improvement measures and outcomes.
        • Upholding business unit accreditation standards and ensuring readiness for site visits and audits.
      • Relationship Management: Serves as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders, including:
        • Communicating critical information between stakeholders.
        • Building relationships with professionals in relevant organizations (i.e. community agencies, clinics, local hospitals, professional associations, etc.)
        • Scouting and recruiting stakeholders (employees, funders, etc.)
      • Executive Presence: Serves as a brand ambassador for HOPES, including:
        • Ensuring choices and behaviors pass the front page test (how will this affect HOPES if what you?re doing and saying ends up on the front page of the newspaper?)
      • Misc. Leadership: May be accountable for Director and Coordinator areas depending on the design of your business unit, including:
        • Director Key Accountability Areas
        • Coordinator Key Accountability Areas
    • Fulfilling Leadership Key Accountability Areas with:
      • Revenue Cycle Director
      • Director of Accounting
  • Team Member
    • Fulfilling HOPESquad Key Accountability Areas
    • Exploring a margin of error for the agency
    • Presenting recommendations to the Executive Team in February
